After a brief run back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back for a limited time available through early December. Hailed as an extensive collection of mapping tools developed by a specialized software company over the years, the complete package is valued at over $1,300. Additionally, there exist multiple package options available here.
The big draw is certainly a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, a professional-grade mapping application which enables users to create everything from epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, city maps, and most notably, tactical combat environments.
A regional fantasy map generated in the CC3+ software platform.
The most affordable option, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four of the 39 total items: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Monster Token Pack 1, Source Maps: Castles!, and Source Maps: Cities!. This package suits cartographers who already have CC3+, yet it provides fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, over twenty-five aerial castle designs including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.
The eight-product collection for at least $15 is where things get more interesting by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the annual collection from the company's ongoing subscription program featuring multiple CC3+ enhancements including map packs and additional utilities. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from multiple angles. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.
For a minimum of $30, the comprehensive package contains these components:
All 17 volumes from the Annual series come with this bundle, plus numerous other resource and asset packs that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, dungeons, urban centers, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. You can even design character portraits. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the full bundle is so worth it, especially for cartographers with temporary CC3+ access and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly more advantageous for map-making newbies since it includes introductory guides to help you get started. The one caveat here though you can redeem the deal across platforms, the applications only function with Windows systems.
As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale supports charitable organizations. For this one, the beneficiary is Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief. Package customization options is toward the top of the page, but you can also select any amount for a donation on the right side of the page. There's also an "Adjust Donation" drop-down just below that, allowing you to adjust how much of your donation allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
